TECFIRE 1st Foosball Tournament
TECFIRE recently concluded its first annual Foosball Tournament 2018-2019 where teams competed for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st position.
Foosball is a tabletop version of “Soccer”, in which players turn rods that are fixed on top of a playing box and attached to miniature figures of players, in order to flick the ball and strike it toward the goal.
For a brief history of the foosball game, patents for similar table games date back as early as the 1890’s in Spain. Foosball’s origins go back since 1921, invented due to Football’s (Soccer) popularity in Europe. In 1937 Alejandro Finisterre patented his invention of table football in Madrid, and his version of the game is the one used in modern day foosball which makes the table football popular in Spanish Culture.
Congratulations to all winners!
